Welcome to Albert Lea High School

Our High School is known for a robust College-in-the-Schools program, is a leader in Project Lead the Way, and has an outstanding tradition in athletics and the fine arts. Albert Lea High School is a member of the Big 9 Athletic Conference.

All students in public schools are required to participate in the statewide assessment program.  Reading and mathematics tests are administered in grades 3-8 and high school (students in grade 10 take the Reading MCA, and students in grade 11 take the Mathematics MCA). The Science MCA is administered to students in grades 5 and 8 and in the high school grade when students take a life science or biology course. With very few exceptions, all public school students in the above grades take the MCA. - MDE

2016 ACT Test Opt Out Form (PDF, 47.47 KB)

The ACT is offered to all students in 11th grade and those students in 12th grade that have not had the opportunity to take the ACT.  ALHS is offering an ACT Preparation course, John Baylor Prep, to all juniors to help them prepare for the ACT. This prep course will take place February 29- April 18 from 7:00-7:50am.  Please see your counselor for more information.

Minnesota Student Survey (PDF, 66.33 KB)

Minnesota Student Survey will be conducted to students in 8th, 9th, and 11th grades on February 2, 2016. This survey is conducted in schools across the state every three years. The survey is given to get useful information from students about how things are going at school, with their peers, and about health-related thoughts and behaviors. The survey typically takes 35-50 minutes to complete. The survey is anonymous, confidential and voluntary. You can review a copy of the survey or choose to have your son or daughter not take the survey by contacting Mark Grossklaus at 507.379.5341.
