Lori Nelson
Lori J. Nelson is a special education and functional skills teacher at Albert Lea High School. She's been with District 241 since 2000. Lori earned her BS in Elementary Education, Educable Mentally Handicapped, and Coaching from Winona State University in 1978. She earned her MS in Learning Disabilities and DCD-S/P from Mankato State University in 1999.
Lori has held many previous teaching positions. From 1978-1980 she was a special ed teacher at Pocahontas Community Schools in Iowa. From 1980-1982 she was a special ed teacher at Sibley Elementary (Dist. 241). She was a special ed teacher in the Kiester-Walters Public Schools in Kiester, MN, from 1982-1985. Lori taught 3rd grade at St. Casimir's Catholic School in Wells, MN from 1987-1992.
In 1993 and 1994 she was a Freeborn County Head Start Home Visitor. In 1996 Lori returned to special education and taught at the Emmons Public School in Emmons, MN, until 1998. From 1998-2000 she taught special ed at Banfield Elementary in Austin, MN.
Lori and her husband live in Alden, MN. They have four children and one grandchild.
