Albert Lea Area Schools

Kindergarten, 2nd grade and 5th grade students recently visited the Freeborn County Historical Museum. 

On Tuesday, April 23rd first grade students went on a field trip to the Albert Lea hospital. 

Kindergarten through second grade students were given a book, Chuck the Duck Meets New Friends, from the United Way of Freeborn County.  Voluteers also took time to read the story to each classroom and explain how the United Way helps the community.  United Way of Freeborn County has published a book for the past 12 years with the help of sponsors. 

On March 25th, the students at Sibley had the opportunity to see Larry Yazzie perform and share information about Native American dance and traditions. 

On March 1st Sibley celebrated "I Love to Read Month" and Dr. Seuss's Birthday with Community Leaders are Readers.  Each classroom had a community leader to read a Dr. Seuss book and talk about their position in the community.  MN Reading Corp enjoys bringing these community leaders to Sibley.

Students at Sibley Elementary School had a special chance to raise money, get their principal in a dunk tank and get some exercise all at the same time on Friday. 

Sibley's parent-teacher organization, Sibley SHARE, organized a walking event called Stroll for a Goal.
